We are seeking experienced candidates to join our Water team, focusing on the design and detailing of infrastructure projects for water utilities.

You will be part of a close-knit team that values professional, technical, and collaborative excellence, supporting Tonkin’s multidisciplinary approach to deliver optimal solutions. As an experienced Designer, you will contribute to developing infrastructure design solutions related to Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects.

About Our Senior Water Engineer Role

Joining our Water team as a Senior Water Engineer, you will be an integral part of a team of highly skilled specialists.

Skills

To succeed, you should demonstrate exemplary teamwork, stakeholder management, and strong communication skills. Ideally, you will possess some or all of the following:

• Experience working in the Australian market, preferably 7+ years.
• Degree qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of current statutory requirements, engineering, and contract standards applicable in South Australia.
• Chartered Engineering Status (CPEng) or willingness to obtain it.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and work with a range of engineering professionals in a team environment.
• Ability to build and maintain positive internal relationships.
• Experience developing external client relationships and industry networks for business growth.
• Experience applying industry standards such as SA Water standards, WSA, etc.
• Experience with Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Safety in Design, HAZOP, and design review processes.
• Experience in Water Supply and Sewerage design, including pipelines and pump stations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a focus on quality outputs.
