Job summary

Reserve Bank of Australia is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the strategy, design and delivery of all Workplace, Building and Property technology for the new premises. You will drive operational readiness and ensure scalable, secure technology across integration with security, facilities and business stakeholders.

In this role you will oversee line management of project managers, manage external partners and align technology with regulatory requirements in a highly controlled banking

Qualifications

Senior Manager, Workplace and Building Technology

• Play a critical leadership role in shaping the technology-enabled workplace of the future, ensuring RBA's new premises operates as a secure, intelligent and world-class environment from day one.
• As a stream within the overall program for construction of the new premises, provide leadership for technology enablement working across Property, Technology, Security, Operations and business stakeholders from concept, strategy and design through to commissioning, occupancy and transition to business-as-usual operations.

Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Workplace & Building Technology is responsible for leading the strategy, design, delivery, and operational readiness of all Workplace, building and property technology systems supporting RBA’s new premises.

Key Position Objectives

• Develop and execute the workplace technology strategy, architecture, design, implementation and operationalisation of the new premises.
• Ensure alignment between workplace experience, operational efficiency, security, sustainability and technology objectives.
• Ensure technology solutions remain scalable, resilient and adaptable to future organisational requirements.
• Partner with physical and cyber security teams to ensure safe operation of workplace technologies on the new premises.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to banking and financial services environments
• Lead technology workstreams across all project phases including planning, strategy, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational handover.
• Plan technology workstream resourcing, recruit staff as required and negotiate and agree internal IT stakeholder involvement.
• Manage consultants, technology vendors, system integrators and construction delivery partners.
• Integrate with established governance, reporting and decision-making frameworks.
• Establish technology cost plan and program to align with overall project budget and time objectives.
• Monitor program budget, schedule, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Develop support and operational models for all workplace and building technologies.
• Establish service management arrangements, maintenance strategies and support procedures.
• Define technology vendor management, performance measures and service level expectations.
• Ensure successful transition from project delivery into ongoing operations.
• Lead workforce adoption and change management activities associated with new workplace technologies.

About the business/role/team
This role is part of the Portfolio Delivery function within Enterprise Strategy and Change (ES&C) department and will work closely with external contractors and the department responsible for overseeing the construction and commissioning of RBA’s new premises.

Role summary

• This role will provide strategic direction and hold accountability for planning and execution of Workplace technologies and projects under governance of the overall program responsible for the construction and commissioning of the new premises.
• The role includes responsibility for line management, performance management and career development of Project Managers assigned to the portfolio, while working closely with external parties and internal peers and stakeholders in other departments.

• Minimum 15 years' experience leading workplace technology, building technology and/or property technology initiatives.
• Experience delivering technology solutions from strategy, design and through to operational handover.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills are required for this role.
• Strong experience in technology procurement, contract management and vendor governance.
• Experience supporting workplace relocation, occupancy transition and operational readiness programmes.
• Experience within banking, financial services, government, defence, critical infrastructure or other highly regulated environments.
