Job summary

Hilltops Council seeks a strategic Leader to manage Recreation, Environment and Facilities across the Hilltops region. You will oversee planning, maintenance and enhancement of parks, facilities and environmental programs, leading multidisciplinary teams and capital works with focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires senior leadership experience, strong stakeholder engagement, and a track record in asset management.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in recreation, environmental management, facilities or local government.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage change.
• Experience managing operational and capital works programs including budgeting and reporting.
• Strong asset management knowledge and management of community facilities and environmental assets.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication with diverse groups.
• Understanding of WHS, risk management and relevant environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management of Council's Recreation, Environment & Facilities staff.
• Lead strategic planning, delivery and continuous improvement of services across Hilltops.
• Manage maintenance, renewal and development of parks, facilities and assets.
• Develop and monitor operational and capital works programs, on time and within budget.
• Provide specialist advice on environmental management and sustainability initiatives.
• Build relationships with community groups, government agencies, contractors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to asset management and long-term financial planning.
