Job summary

Hilltops Council is seeking a fully qualified Manager Recreation, Environment, & Facilities to lead the Open Spaces, environmental, and facilities teams on site in the Hilltops region of NSW.

The role requires a degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science with 5+ years of team leadership, knowledge of environmental legislation, and strong reporting abilities. White Card and a current Class C Licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years’ experience managing teams in environmental or recreational services.
• Understanding of environmental legislation and standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong report writing ability.
• Interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with stakeholders.
• Self-management; ability to prioritise multiple requirements and meet deadlines.
• Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) and a current Class C Driver Licence.
• Experience in Local Government or similar Government body.
• Post-graduate qualifications in Engineering, Environment, or Government.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Open Spaces, environmental, and facilities services to meet community outcomes.
• Plan and manage construction, repair, and maintenance of environmental and recreational assets.
• Provide specialist environmental management advice and resources to the Council team.
• Foster collaboration and strong stakeholder relationships across Council and partners.
