Job summary

The Manager, Public Health Platforms at the Department of Health in Victoria leads the strategic oversight of communicable disease epidemiology and surveillance systems, ensuring data collection, analysis and reporting support evidence-based decisions.

This senior role coordinates with eHealth Division, Local Public Health Units, labs and partners to strengthen notifiable condition monitoring, drive innovation and system excellence across the public health network.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in epidemiology, data and surveillance, public health, or related field.
• Experience managing a team of professionals.
• Significant experience in communicable disease epidemiology and public health surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of specialised professionals in data, epidemiology and surveillance with ongoing professional development.
• Collaborates with internal/external stakeholders to ensure fit-for-purpose data collection and storage for notifiable conditions.
• Provides leadership to embed effective surveillance capabilities across the public health network.
• Supports best-practice monitoring, response and reporting with Local Public Health Units and partners.
