Job summary

Mission Critical Recruitment is seeking a senior OT Solution Architect in Australia. The role focuses on owning the architecture for BMS, EPMS, SCADA, DCIM and OT controls within critical infrastructure, ensuring secure integration with IT networks and governance standards.

You will direct outsourced specialists and partners, influence decisions, and drive resilience across lifecycle management and upgrades in a hyperscale data centre environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on senior experience with BMS/EPMS/SCADA/OT controls in data centres or critical infrastructure
• Strong IT and networking knowledge: routing, switching, firewalls and remote access
• Experience directing vendors and integrators through design, commissioning and handover
• OT cyber security knowledge (IEC 62443) or segmentation design is a plus
• Certifications such as GICSP, CCNP or IEC 62443 are useful

Job description

A hyperscale data centre developer and operator with campuses across APAC is hiring a senior OT Solution Architect, based in Australia, where most of its build programme sits.

This is a hands-on OT role. You'll own the architecture for the systems that keep the data halls running: BMS, EPMS, SCADA, DCIM, PLCs and controls, and how they sit on the underlying IT network. You'll also make sure the platforms and vendors chosen meet the organisation's security and governance standards.

It's a senior individual contributor role. You won't run an internal team, but you will direct outsourced specialists, integrators and technology partners, so technical credibility and influence matter more than headcount.

What you'll do

• Own the target architecture and standards for data centre OT: BMS, EPMS, SCADA, DCIM, PLCs, controllers and monitoring
• Define how OT platforms connect to enterprise IT and the network, with resilience and supportability built in
• Assess vendor platforms and appliances, and set requirements for vendor connectivity and remote support
• Provide architecture assurance on new builds, expansions and upgrades through design, commissioning and handover
• Plan lifecycle, obsolescence and resilience across OT platforms
• Brief senior leaders on OT risk, investment priorities and trade-offs

• Solid underlying IT and networking knowledge: routing, switching, firewalls and remote access
• Experience directing vendors and integrators through design, commissioning and handover
• OT cyber security knowledge, such as IEC 62443 or segmentation design, and GRC exposure are a plus
• Certifications such as GICSP, CCNP or IEC 62443 are useful
