Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own OT security architecture and standards, including segmentation and secure remote access.
• Assess vendor platforms against GRC policies and define connectivity requirements for third parties.
• Define reference architectures for BMS, EPMS, DCIM and SCADA connections to IT.
• Provide architecture assurance on new builds, expansions and upgrades from design through handover.
• Plan lifecycle, obsolescence, and resilience across OT platforms.
• Brief senior leaders on OT risk, priorities, and trade-offs.

Job description

A hyperscale data centre developer and operator with campuses across APAC is hiring a senior OT Solution Architect, based in Australia, where most of its build programme sits.

This is a security architecture role first. You'll set how operational technology is connected, segmented and secured across the data centre estate, and make sure the platforms and appliances chosen meet the organisation's GRC policies, from access control to vendor remote access. Experience with BMS, EPMS and SCADA environments is a real advantage, but the core of the job is secure architecture.

It's a senior individual contributor role. You won't run an internal team, but you will direct outsourced specialists, integrators and technology partners, so technical credibility and influence matter more than headcount.

What you'll do

• Own the OT security architecture and standards: zones and conduits, segmentation, secure remote access, identity and privileged access, logging and monitoring, aligned to IEC 62443 and ISO 27001
• Assess vendor platforms and appliances against GRC policy, and set requirements for vendor connectivity and third‑party maintenance
• Define reference architectures for how BMS, EPMS, DCIM and SCADA connect to enterprise IT
• Provide architecture assurance on new builds, expansions and upgrades through design, commissioning and handover
• Plan lifecycle, obsolescence and resilience across OT platforms
• Brief senior leaders on OT risk, investment priorities and trade‑offs

What they're looking for

• A senior IT or security architect who has worked in OT, industrial control or critical infrastructure environments
• Strong experience with network segmentation, firewalls, remote access and jump hosts, identity and PAM
• Practical knowledge of IEC 62443
• Exposure to data centre or facilities systems such as BMS, EPMS and SCADA is a strong plus
• Experience assuring the work of vendors and integrators
• Certifications such as GICSP, IEC 62443, CISSP or TOGAF are useful
