Job summary

CommSec Risk Management is seeking a Senior Manager Compliance to lead regulatory change initiatives and embed obligations across the business. You will work with senior stakeholders to ensure compliance is understood, implemented and embedded, driving better customer and business outcomes.

This role offers exposure to enterprise-wide regulatory change, governance forums and licensing activities, with opportunities to influence Group-wide practices and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in Compliance, Regulatory Change, Risk & Controls, Governance or Legal advisory environments.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory change and risk management frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with ability to resolve complex issues.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• A tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Law or Risk Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, assessment and monitoring of regulatory change initiatives impacting CommSec.
• Provide CRO reporting and governance updates on implementation progress.
• Deliver high-quality Line 2 risk governance reporting to the CommSec Risk Committee and Board.
• Provide compliance advisory support including licensing activities, CSAs and RCSAs.
• Support Line 2 monitoring, assurance reviews and obligations management.
• Drive continuous improvement of CommSec's regulatory change processes.

As Senior Manager Compliance , you’ll play a key role in shaping how CommSec responds to an evolving regulatory landscape. Leading regulatory change initiatives across the business, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure regulatory obligations are understood, implemented and embedded effectively, while helping drive better customer and business outcomes.

CommSec Risk Management is a division of Business Banking Risk Management within CBA Risk Management. The team has three key areas of focus: Compliance, Operational Risk and Market & Liquidity Risk.

This role sits within the Governance and Framework Team , providing exposure to enterprise-wide regulatory change initiatives, governance forums and wide stakeholder engagement across the Group .

The Governance and Framework Team supports governance and reporting, regulatory change, CommSec profile management (RCSAs and CSAs), licensing activities, and contributes to the development and implementation of Compliance policies and procedures.

On any given day you will

• Lead the identification, assessment and monitoring of regulatory change initiatives impacting CommSec, providing advice and support to Line 1 Risk and the business throughout implementation.
• Monitor and deliver insights on regulatory developments and implementation progress through CRO reporting, governance forums and internal communications.
• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality Line 2 Risk governance reporting, including reporting to the CommSec Risk Committee and CommSec Board.
• Provide compliance advisory support to the CommSec Chief Controls Office, including licensing activities, CSAs and RCSAs.
• Support compliance activities including Line 2 monitoring, assurance reviews and obligations management.
• Drive continuous improvement across CommSec’s regulatory change processes and practices.

• Strong knowledge of regulatory change, Compliance Management Frameworks and risk management practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to quickly understand complex issues and deliver practical outcomes.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Business, Law or Risk Management.

Desirable

Knowledge of CommSec, ASIC Market Integrity Rules, ASX Operating / Settlement / Clearing Rules, or TMX Operating Rules will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
