Qualifications

• Degree in accounting and progress towards CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent.
• At least 7 years’ experience as an auditor.
• IFRS knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• SOX/PCAOB experience is desirable.

• Define audit strategy with the Partner and execute in line with EY policies.
• Lead fieldwork on client sites and coordinate with other departments.
• Manage audits from planning to reporting and deliver outcomes.

You will play a key role in driving growth by developing new and existing client relationships, leading highly skilled project teams and delivering a first-class customer experience on high-profile engagements.

This role is based in Boorloo – Perth. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

• Manage the audit engagement by defining audit strategy, in consultation with the Partner, and executing it in compliance with our policies and protocol
• Effectively manage the Audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters
• Lead and manage fieldwork on clients’ sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the Audit process
• Expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters

Skills and attributes for success

• Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
• SOX or PCAOB experience is desirable
• Proven experience in delivering external audit and assurance engagements
• Experience leading the planning, execution and reporting on audits

• Proven track record with developing and maintaining client relationships
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management
• At least 7 years’ experience as an auditor

A strong academic record, including a degree and progress towards/completion of a recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA) or equivalent
