Job summary

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) seeks a Senior Management Accountant to partner with business leaders, deliver insightful reporting and strong financial stewardship across a division. You will drive close collaboration with stakeholders, support budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a 12‑month fixed term engagement.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work from either Adelaide or Melbourne, focusing on accuracy, process improvement

Qualifications

• 7-10 years’ experience in accounting or finance with management accounting and business partnering responsibilities.
• CA or CPA qualification and a relevant tertiary degree are required.
• Strong analytical capability to interpret financial information and provide practical recommendations.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills for reporting and insight generation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted partnerships with senior leaders and cost centre owners, providing financial advice and insights.
• Manage month-end accounting, journals, accruals and cost assessments.
• Prepare and review monthly operating reports with variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Support accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting across AGIG divisions.
• Lead project accounting tasks including capital spend, phasing and capitalisation processes.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve financial processes and controls.
