Job summary

Independent Plumbing & Gas Fitting (IPG) in Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Plumber to join our team. You will run jobs independently, solve onsite problems, and take pride in quality workmanship.

We offer full-time and 4-day week options for the right person, with variety across maintenance, commercial and civil plumbing. Mentoring apprentices and working with a supportive team are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Current plumbing qualifications and appropriate licence.
• Strong maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Good drainage knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage jobs independently and produce clear job notes/photos/recommendations.

Independent Plumbing & Gas Fitting (IPG) is looking for an experienced Senior Maintenance Plumber to join our team.

We’re looking for someone who knows the trade, can confidently run their own jobs, solve problems onsite and takes pride in quality workmanship.

Full-time and 4-day working week options are available for the right person.

ABOUT THE ROLE

At IPG, we don’t just do basic maintenance.

Our work ranges from everyday plumbing maintenance and fault finding right through to commercial, government and civil plumbing installations.

Depending on your experience, your work could include:

• General plumbing maintenance and repairs


• Fault finding and leak detection


• Blocked drains, sewer and stormwater repairs


• CCTV inspections and high-pressure jetting


• Hot water systems


• Gas fitting and appliance installations


• Roofing, gutters and leak investigations


• Commercial and government maintenance


• Excavation and drainage installations


• Sewer and stormwater upgrades


• Civil plumbing and infrastructure works


• Working with and mentoring apprentices

There is plenty of variety. One day you might be diagnosing a difficult maintenance issue and the next working with the team on a larger drainage or civil installation.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We want an experienced plumber who can work independently and take ownership of their jobs from start to finish.

You will ideally have:

• Current plumbing qualifications and appropriate licence


• Strong maintenance and fault-finding experience


• Good drainage knowledge


• Excellent problem-solving skills


• High standard of workmanship


• Good communication and customer service skills


• Ability to manage jobs independently


• Ability to produce clear job notes, photos and recommendations


• A professional attitude and pride in your work


• Experience in gas fitting, drainage, CCTV/jetting, roofing, excavation or civil plumbing is highly regarded but not essential.
