Job summary

Westpac Group in Sydney is seeking a Senior Mainframe Storage Specialist to join the Infrastructure Services team. You will support complex mainframe storage environments and help evolve operating models with advanced storage management expertise.

You will apply GDPS, data replication and disaster recovery skills to design, implement and maintain robust solutions. Strong problem solving and communication are essential in a collaborative, hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years IT Mainframe experience, 3+ years in a highly technical role.
• 7+ years in a complex IT infrastructure with storage management.

Responsibilities

• Support Westpac's complex mainframe environment and increase technical expertise.
• Develop and maintain technical solutions within the Mainframe to ensure fit-for-purpose design and operations.

What’s the role?

Infrastructure & Operations is embarking on a new operating model putting Westpac technologists in the driving seat by investing in our engineering skills to enable a proactive operating model.

The Infrastructure Services Specialist within the Mainframe Infrastructure Services team is required to support Westpac’s complex mainframe environment and increase their technical expertise.

The role plays an important role in the development and maintenance of technical solutions within the Mainframe and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose.

What do I need?

• Ten+ years relevant IT Mainframe industry experience with at least three years in a highly technical role.
• Seven+ years’ experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment incorporating storage management, operational management, configuration and maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge in the Mainframe Storage management domain, with experience in managing IBM DS8000, TS7700 and Brocade SAN technologies.
• Advanced knowledge in GDPS, data replication and disaster recovery, with experience in complex implementation and recovery scenarios.
• Strong analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
