Job summary

Compas Pty Ltd, a Canberra-based IT services company, is seeking multiple Mainframe Developers to join a Federal Government Department for a long-term engagement. Initial 12 month contract with extensions and clearance requirements are noted.

Open to Australian Citizens with Baseline Clearance or ability to obtain quickly; roles include analysis, design, development and maintenance of ICT solutions across ACT, QLD, SA, VIC.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Mainframe environment with COBOL/Adabas Natural or other mainframe languages.
• Strong analytical skills to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Object Oriented languages such as Java and C#.

Responsibilities

• Undertake analysis, design, development, prototyping, testing and maintenance activities.
• Provide support to development teams to create ICT solutions and analyse technical requirements.
• Define software and designs for high‑complexity solutions or migrations.
• Ensure high quality and maintain standards in software development.
• Provide go-live support and maintenance for developments.
• Escalate issues and suggest alternative approaches.
