Job summary

Weir is seeking a skilled Machine Tool Fitter at our Artarmon, Australia site. You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance on CNC and conventional machine tools, diagnose faults, and support tooling upgrades to maintain peak reliability.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and reducing downtime in a hands-on, onsite environment. Ideal candidates have a Mechanical Engineering Cert III and 5+ years’ experience with machine tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and CMMS reporting.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience maintaining CNC and conventional machine tools.
Strong skills in hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance.
Proficient in using CMMS for maintenance management and reporting.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC and conventional machine tools and maintain equipment records.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and basic electrical faults and minimise downtime.
Perform precision alignment, calibration, installation, relocation, and major overhauls of machine tools.
Maintain and improve machine tool reliability to ensure high operational efficiency.
Adhere to safety standards and work with minimal travel, primarily onsite at Artarmon.
