Job summary

Hooker and Heijden - Insurance and Underwriting Recruitment in Melbourne VIC is seeking a Senior Associate with 4+ years PQE in litigation to join the commercial litigation and dispute resolution team. You will work directly with a principal with extensive experience and mentor junior lawyers.

The role covers retail leases, commercial litigation, and appearances in the Magistrates’, County Court, Supreme Court, Federal Court and VCAT across Victoria and interstate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years PQE in litigation, with strong commercial law experience.
• Confident running complex matters strategically and efficiently, and able to hit the ground running.
• Comfortable mentoring junior lawyers and paralegals.
• Interested in regular court appearances and advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Appear in court and do advocacy regularly, a strength of this role.
• Mentor a junior litigator and paralegals as part of the team.
• Manage and oversee litigation files from pre-litigation through to court proceedings.
