Job summary

QBE Insurance is seeking a Senior Underwriter - Liability to join our Commercial Underwriting team in a hybrid role based in Adelaide or Perth. You will underwrite complex new business, renewals and endorsements, delivering timely, commercially sound decisions.

You will build strong broker relationships to drive profitable growth, manage a portfolio, and mentor junior underwriters while upholding underwriting governance and thorough risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial underwriting experience with strong Liability insurance expertise.
• Ability to manage and grow a profitable portfolio through broker engagement.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building with brokers, customers, and internal teams.
• Experience coaching or mentoring junior underwriters and sharing technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex new business, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers to drive profitable growth and service excellence.
• Identify and secure profitable opportunities while maintaining underwriting discipline and compliance.
