Job summary

Zurich Australia is seeking a Senior Liability Underwriter in NSW to lead underwriting for the liability portfolio, build strategic broker relationships, and drive profitable growth aligned with Zurich’s digital transformation agenda.

Reporting to the NSW State Manager, you will underwrite new and renewal business, mentor junior underwriters, and stay ahead of regulatory changes while delivering exceptional customer outcomes in a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in underwriting or broking liability risks.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence.
• Sound knowledge of broker market, underwriting philosophy, and regulatory frameworks.
• Commercial acumen with a customer‑centric approach.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite liability insurance risks for new and renewal business.
• Manage and monitor a portfolio of existing accounts for profitability.
• Build and maintain strong broker, customer, and internal stakeholder relationships.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters.
• Lead execution of strategic plans, including Zurich’s Go‑To‑Market strategy.
• Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
