Job summary

Pen Underwriting is seeking an Underwriter to join our Liability team, specialising in Aged and Community Care products. You will assess and underwrite new business and renewals across Liability, PI and ML lines, evaluating risks and pricing while building broker relationships.

Ideal candidates bring at least 2 years of underwriting experience, strong communication, analytical skills and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a team-focused environment within Australia.

Qualifications

• 2+ years underwriting experience, preferably in Liability, Financial Lines or Management Liability.
• Strong time management, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail capabilities.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and underwriting new business and renewal submissions across Liability, Professional Indemnity and Management Liability lines in line with guidelines.
• Evaluating risks by reviewing broker submissions, insureds' operations and risk controls.
• Applying underwriting expertise to risk assessment, pricing and coverage decisions.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers to drive new business.
• Supporting efficiencies and process improvements in the team.
• Collaborating with underwriters across other product lines to identify growth opportunities.
