We are seeking experienced Senior Legal Officers to join our team with a number of roles available.
These roles offer the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful legal matters across environmental protection, administrative law, conduct of litigation, legislative reform, government contracts and enforcement. You will provide trusted legal advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders, and depending on the role, conduct litigation, prepare legal documentation and contribute to the development of contemporary legislation and regulatory approaches.
In addition to your legal practice, you will contribute to legislative reviews and help build legal capability across the organisation through the development and delivery of legal education, training and compliance programs.
This is a role where your legal expertise can make a tangible difference, working at the intersection of law, regulation and environmental protection.
To be successful in this role:
The NSW EPA Legal team is a high-performing group of specialist in-house lawyers across two branches: Litigation branch; and Legislation & Legal Advice branch.

The Litigation branch prosecutes criminal matters and responds to civil matters in court on behalf of the EPA, while also providing strategic legal advice across the full breadth of the EPA’s regulatory functions.
Together, the team provides practical, high-quality legal services that support effective environmental regulation across NSW.
