Job summary

Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia (BMSA) seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to lead the legal function across Adelaide, Perth or Sydney and to provide strategic legal, governance and risk management leadership. You will act as Company Secretary, oversee regulatory compliance, manage disputes with external advisers, and partner with the Executive Leadership Team to protect the organisation's interests.

The role requires JD/LLB, admission as a lawyer in Australia, and a minimum of seven years PQE,

Qualifications

• JD or LLB required, admitted to practice in Australia.
• Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience providing legal, commercial, governance & regulatory advice to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead management of legal disputes, investigations and external advisers.
• Provide governance, compliance & risk management leadership to the organisation.
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to support objectives and protect the organisation's interests.
• Oversee corporate governance & company secretarial activities.

We are currently seeking a Senior Legal Counselto work in Adelaide, Perth or Sydney to provide legal counsel, trusted advice & strategic business partnering.

The Opportunity

Lead management of legal disputes, investigations and external legal advisers

Provide strategic legal, governance, compliance & risk management leadership to the organisation

Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to:

Support business objectives & protect the organisation's interests

Ensure compliance with legal & regulatory obligations

Oversee corporate governance & company secretarial activities

Enable effective decision-making across the business

Develop & continuously improve legal frameworks, policies & contract management processes

Act as Company Secretary for the Board, Board Committees & subsidiary entities

About you - Essential

Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

Admitted Australian Legal Practitioner

Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience (PQE)

Demonstrated experience providing legal, commercial, governance & regulatory advice to senior stakeholders

Accepting of regular interstate travel
