Job summary

NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water in NSW seeks a Senior Legal Officer to provide high-quality legal advisory services within the Environment and Strategic Advice team. You will support delivery of long-term projects, including legislative reform and drafting Bills, collaborating across directorates to protect NSW environment and heritage.

Applicants must be admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner in NSW or another eligible jurisdiction, hold or be eligible

Qualifications

• Admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner in NSW or another eligible jurisdiction.
• Hold, or be eligible to hold, a NSW Practising Certificate.
• Experience in planning, environmental, heritage or natural resource management law; administrative law; statutory interpretation; legislative reform and policy development.
• 3+ years post admission experience preferred.

Responsibilities
