Job summary

University of the Sunshine Coast invites applications for a Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nursing (Identified position). The School of Health seeks an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander academic to advance nursing education, research and community engagement.

The role involves shaping curriculum with Indigenous knowledges, fostering partnerships with health services and communities, and contributing to research outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registration as a nurse with AHPRA.
• Enrolment in a doctoral qualification (Level B) or a completed doctoral qualification preferred (Level C).
• Demonstrated effectiveness in higher education teaching and curriculum development.
• Research experience with scholarly outputs and the ability to contribute to research initiatives and partnerships.
• Strong professional and community connections relevant to nursing and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
• A collegial, inclusive and community-focused approach that contributes positively to academic culture and student success.
• A demonstrated commitment to improving recruitment, retention, wellbeing and graduate outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, culturally responsive learning experiences.
• Design, review and enhance curriculum with focus on Indigenous knowledges and cultural safety.
• Contribute to impactful research initiatives aligned with School and University priorities.
• Publish scholarly work and build a program of research activity and impact.
• Develop partnerships with health services, community organisations and professional bodies.
• Support recruitment, retention and graduation outcomes for Indigenous students.
• Lead curriculum development, mentor colleagues and strengthen research performance.
