University of New South Wales in Sydney, NSW seeks a Senior Lecturer - Education Focused to lead interdisciplinary teaching in science and to drive the capstone subjects SCIF1000 Skills in Science and SCIF1001 Advancing Science.

The role is full-time at Level C with 17% superannuation and annual leave loading, within the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences, offering a path to educational leadership and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• A PhD in a biological, earth or environmental science discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design across undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Experience using educational technologies and online delivery methods.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness and commitment to educational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team delivering SCIF1000 and SCIF1001 and collaborate with other Science Faculty courses.
• Apply a reflective teaching practice inspired by a defined teaching philosophy.
• Conduct classes, assess learning, and support students in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.
• Design and develop learning activities, resources, and assessment at course and program level.
• Support learning progression and implement inclusive teaching aligned with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
• Manage course administration as Course Authority and ensure academic quality.
• Lead School meetings, contribute to committees, and mentor staff.
• Collaborate across UNSW to develop teaching resources and share ideas.
