Job summary

UNSW seeks a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences to lead teaching across interdisciplinary science courses. The role focuses on education-focused excellence, delivering capstone subjects, and mentoring staff within a collaborative, diverse environment.

You will drive innovative teaching practices, develop course resources, and contribute to the student learning experience for undergraduate and postgraduate programs at UNSW.

Qualifications

• PhD in biological, earth or environmental science; experience in teaching and learning design.
• Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
• Teaching effectiveness evidence and passion for educational excellence.
• Professional development in teaching practice and inclusive culture of learning.
• Curriculum development and improvement experience.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills to support diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team delivering core science capstone subjects SCIF1000 and SCIF1001.
• Apply a reflective teaching practice to inspire student learning.
• Deliver classes, assess learning, and support undergraduate/postgraduate students.
• Design learning activities and resources with diverse environments and assessment methods.
• Support progression of individual students and cohorts with ELPs and inclusive teaching.
• Manage course administration as Course Authority and participate in committees.
