Job summary

UNSW's School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences invites applications for a Senior Lecturer Education Focused role. You will lead teaching in interdisciplinary science courses, including capstone SCIF1000 and SCIF1001, and drive educational excellence in line with UNSW policy.

The role demands a PhD in a relevant field, a strong record of teaching design, and ability to mentor staff and support diverse students.

Qualifications

PhD in a biological, earth or environmental science discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience designing and delivering undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses.
Experience using educational technologies and online delivery methods.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
Ability to lead an inclusive culture of learning and teaching.
Experience initiating curriculum development and improvement.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the team delivering SCIF1000 and SCIF1001, including course convening.
Apply a defined teaching philosophy to inspire student learning.
Deliver classes, assess student achievement and support learners.
Design and develop learning activities, resources, and assessment across courses.
Support individual and cohort learning progress with inclusive practices.
Manage course administration as Course Authority and contribute to meetings.
