Job summary

Alcon in Australia is seeking a Senior Quality Leader to direct Supplier Quality, IQC, and Metrology teams within a fast-paced medical device environment. You will shape quality strategy, drive audits, CAPAs, and risk-based controls to ensure supply continuity and product reliability.

You’ll collaborate with Procurement, R&D, and Manufacturing, lead data-driven improvements, and mentor cross-functional teams to meet ISO 9001/13485 and AS9100 requirements while delivering measurable quality

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Supplier Quality or related roles in regulated industries.
• Experience leading technical quality teams, including Supplier Quality, Inspection, Metrology, or Manufacturing Quality.
• Strong knowledge of supplier quality management, supplier development, auditing, corrective action processes, and quality systems compliance.
• Experience managing incoming inspection programs, inspection strategies, sampling methodologies, nonconformance management, and risk-based quality controls.
• Demonstrated expertise in GD&T, metrology, MSA, and Gauge R&R; knowledge of SPC and continual improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Supplier Quality, IQC, and Metrology teams with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Own supplier quality performance, including supplier qualification, audits, corrective actions, and development activities.
• Oversee containment, SCARs, and escalation processes to resolve quality issues impacting operations.
• Direct the IQC function with inspection strategies, sampling, and risk-based controls for incoming product conformity.
• Lead the Metrology function to ensure measurement systems and technologies are compliant and fit for purpose.
• Drive data-driven improvements by analyzing trends to reduce risk and improve product quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Procurement, R&D, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure quality and supply continuity.
• Support product development and industrialization through supplier readiness, quality risk management, and planning.
• Ensure governance and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100 or equivalent systems; conduct internal auditing.
