Job summary

Eastern Health invites applicants for the Associate Program Director, Lived and Living Experience Workforce to lead integration of lived experience voices across mental health services in Melbourne. This senior role shapes design, development and delivery with a focus on consumer and carer perspectives.

You will work within our Mental Health and Wellbeing Program, partnering with diverse teams to drive quality care and inclusive governance, while advocating for policy improvements.

About the role

A core commitment of Eastern Health’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Program is engagement of people withLived and Living Experience across all aspects of service provision. Lived and Living Experience informs andshapes the work undertaken by the Program and, to ensure this is implemented to its full potential, this seniorrole of Associate Program Director, Lived and Living Experience, will play a key role in ensuring the design, development and deliveryof mental health service provision captures and includes the voices of those with Lived and Living Experience.This is a designated Lived Experience role and, as such, the incumbent must have a direct experience as aconsumer or carer/supporter of a person with mental illness who has required treatment in the Victorian publicmental health system.

About you

This is a designated Lived Experience role and, as such, the incumbent must have a direct experience as a consumer or carer/supporter of a person with mental illness who has required treatment and care in the Victorian public mental health system.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Demonstrated capacity to use Lived and/or Living Experience expertise to inform leadership, service development, quality improvement, policy, advocacy and organisational change
• Senior leadership experience within relevant healthcare or related sectors
• Extensive understanding of contemporary Lived and Living Experience practice
• Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively
• Formal qualifications in Peer Work, Mental Health Peer Work, Consumer Leadership, Health Management or other relevant fields
• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
• A strong commitment to high-quality care
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
