Job summary

The Law Society of South Australia is seeking a Senior Lawyer to join the Ethics and Practice Unit in Adelaide. The role focuses on legal ethics, professional standards and regulatory work, offering a chance to influence the profession beyond private practice.

Ideal candidates have strong litigation or dispute resolution backgrounds, experience with regulatory matters, and the ability to provide expert guidance and mentoring within a public-interest framework.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold, or be eligible to hold, a South Australian Category C unrestricted practising certificate.
• Demonstrated post‑admission experience ordinarily five or more years PQE or equivalent capability.
• Experience in litigation, dispute resolution or regulatory practice is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality advice on legal ethics, professional obligations and practice issues.
• Analyse complex legal and regulatory issues and prepare well-reasoned reports and submissions.
• Support statutory functions under the Legal Practitioners Act, including disciplinary, trust accounting and regulatory processes.
