Job summary

Whitsunday Catchment Landcare is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled person to support delivery of diverse projects across the Whitsunday Catchment. The role offers flexible working arrangements and a mix of office and on-ground duties.

You will lead a small team, contribute to community capacity building, and help with funding applications. A Certificate IV and relevant licences are required, with willingness to obtain additional certificates on start.

Qualifications

• Good physical fitness and ability to work in hot, humid remote bushland.
• Certificate IV in Conservation & Land Management or equivalent qualification.
• Experience leading small teams and delivering projects on time.
• Licence to operate agricultural chemicals distribution or ability to obtain.
• Current certificates or willingness to obtain Senior First Aid, Chainsaw Accreditation, WWC Blue Card.
• Computer literacy including MS Office; GIS apps knowledge desirable.
• Ability to use GIS apps and Queensland Globe; operate small plant and equipment.
• Experience towing trailers and driving 4WDs; plant identification and weed control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of diverse NRM projects funded by grants and contracts.
• Lead a small on-ground works team and manage project milestones.
• Encourage community involvement and volunteer activities in NRM.
• Develop new projects with the WCL team and assist funding applications.
• Maintain high standards of project management and delivery.
