Job summary

Synechron in Melbourne seeks a Senior Java Integration Engineer to design and build scalable Java-based integration solutions and microservices. You will drive workflow orchestration using Temporal or similar platforms and implement complex business processes across REST and messaging integrations.

The role requires hands-on experience with distributed systems, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines. Strong collaboration with architects and agile teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Design and implement distributed systems and microservices.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java-based integration solutions and microservices.
• Build and maintain workflow-driven applications using Temporal or equivalent orchestration platforms.
• Develop event-driven integrations with Kafka and APIs.
• Design resilient long-running business processes with retry and fault-tolerance.
• Integrate systems via REST APIs, messaging platforms and workflow engines.
• Collaborate with architects to define integration and orchestration strategies.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance.
