Job summary

Task Recruitment is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join a global mining equipment and technology OEM in Brisbane. You will work on fleet management software for underground mining, contributing to architecture, microservices, and real-time data integration.

The role is office-based in Brisbane CBD, five days per week, with flexible start and finish times. This is an initial 12-month contract with strong extension potential, in a collaborative Agile team.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of commercial software development experience in backend Java.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and database integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based applications supporting underground fleet management.
• Build scalable microservices and distributed architectures.
• Participate in code and design reviews to raise engineering standards.
• Ensure security, testing and reliability are built in from the start.
