Engagement Manager

Queensland or Western Australia | Full-time | Remote with regular customer site travel

MaxMine sits at the intersection of mining operations, technology and data. We work alongside our customers to embed technology and data into the way their operations run, identify meaningful improvement opportunities and turn those opportunities into measurable results.

We’re looking for an Engagement Manager to lead that relationship across a portfolio of customer sites.

This is a broad, high-trust role combining customer leadership, operational improvement, technology adoption and analytics. You’ll work closely with customer teams to understand their priorities and operating environment, help them get the most from MaxMine, and connect the right people, technology and insights to move things forward.

About the role

As an Engagement Manager, you’ll be the primary MaxMine contact for your assigned customer sites.

You’ll work with stakeholders ranging from frontline users and operational teams through to technical specialists and senior customer leaders. You’ll understand their priorities, identify opportunities, improve adoption of MaxMine, and help translate data and insight into better operating outcomes.

You’ll develop and maintain clear engagement plans for your sites, track priorities and actions, and ensure important customer context, risks and opportunities are visible to the wider MaxMine team

The role combines customer leadership, operational understanding, data literacy, coaching and commercial awareness.

You’ll spend meaningful time on site, but this is not a FIFO or rostered site role. You’ll be based from home and travel regularly to customer sites as required — typically around 5–10 days per month, depending on customer needs and agreed engagement plans.

The balance of your time will be spent working remotely with customers and MaxMine teams, preparing for site engagements, analysing performance, coordinating actions and maintaining momentum between visits.

About you

You’re comfortable working where operations, people and technology intersect.

You may come from mining engineering, technical services, dispatch, production, business improvement or mining technology.

Equally, you may have built your experience in another complex operational environment through digital transformation, operational technology, industrial analytics, technology project delivery, customer-facing SaaS or BI solutions.

Mining experience is highly advantageous, but it isn't the only path into this role. What matters is your ability to understand how an operation works, build credibility with experienced stakeholders, interpret data and technology in context, and turn that understanding into action.

You can move comfortably between detailed operational or technical conversations and discussions with senior customer stakeholders. You know when to listen, when to challenge, when to bring in specialist expertise and when to simplify the problem.

You’ll likely be someone who:

  • Builds strong relationships and earns trust
  • Gets up to speed quickly in unfamiliar complex operational environments
  • Can independently interpret operational data, test assumptions and identify what actually matters
  • Understands how technology needs to fit into real-world workflows to create value
  • Communicates complex operational and technical issues clearly and practically
  • Is comfortable facilitating, coaching and influencing without formal authority
  • Can challenge constructively while maintaining strong relationships
  • Takes ownership and follows things through
  • Works effectively with limited supervision
  • Balances customer needs with commercial priorities and organisational constraints
  • Is adaptable across different sites, customers, industries and operating cultures
What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a combination of customer capability, operational understanding and analytical thinking.

You’ll likely have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining, Engineering, Business or a related discipline; or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • 3+ years' experience in mining, heavy industry, operational technology, business improvement, digital transformation, industrial analytics or another relevant operational environment
  • Strong data literacy and the ability to translate analysis into practical insight
  • Experience engaging with multiple stakeholder groups in complex customer or operational environments
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage your own priorities and deliver outcomes with limited supervision
  • A valid Australian driver's licence
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights

Highly regarded experience includes:

  • Surface mining operations, particularly load and haul
  • Dispatch or control room operations
  • Fleet management systems
  • Operational improvement or productivity programs
  • Mining technology, operational technology or industrial SaaS
  • BI, analytics or digital transformation in complex operational environments
  • Technology adoption or behavioural change
  • Customer-facing delivery of technical or operational solutions

Please note: Please note that this vacancy is for a position commencing in 2027.

Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Please submit your CV and a brief overview of your experience.
