Job summary

St Columban's College in Caboolture is seeking a Senior IT Technician to lead the ICT department and deliver reliable ICT services across the campus. You will set strategic ICT direction, implement hardware/software, manage budgets and oversee ICT staff, aligning with Brisbane Catholic Education's standards and priorities.

The role involves partnering with school leadership, safeguarding compliance, and enabling teaching via robust IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing ICT operations and providing strategic advice to a leadership team.
• Expertise evaluating and implementing sustainable ICT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of ICT in the education sector and future technology directions.
• Experience managing ICT budgets and resources with forecasting insights.
• Ability to develop ICT staff through performance management and training.
• Tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma level in ICT or related field.

Summary

Manage St Columban's IT department and lead the innovative planning and delivery of ICT services, and the school toward achieving its strategic goals and operational excellence.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Manage the ICT strategic direction of ICT operations within the school, providing strategic advice, analysis and support to the leadership team in relation to ICT
• Investigating and implementing hardware, software and ICT infrastructure, in consultation with the Leadership Team that is sustainable and responsive to the needs of the school community
• Providing strategic advice to the Leadership Team on the operations and future directions of the changing ICT education sector, technology and infrastructure improvement
• Managing the ICT infrastructure and systems budget and resource allocations, providing advice and reports on future requirements
• Managing ICT staff, including performance management, training and development and workforce planning.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

• Previous management of ICT operations providing expert advice to a leadership team
• Expertise in evaluating and implementing sustainable hardware, software, and ICT infrastructure
• In-depth knowledge of the evolving ICT education sector, to be able to offer strategic advice on technology and infrastructure improvements within a school setting
• Experience in managing ICT budgets, resource allocations, and providing insights on future requirements
• Proven ability to manage and develop ICT staff through performance management, training, and workforce planning
• Tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma level in ICT or related field
• For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
