Job summary

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join ABC Digital Product in Brisbane. You will lead development and mentoring across mobile features, help define the technical roadmap and deliver high-performance iOS apps written in Swift.

This role requires advanced iOS skills, automated testing expertise, CI/CD experience and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across ABC's digital products to improve performance, security and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing complex, scalable, secure, accessible and high-performing applications across mobile platforms and devices.
• Highly advanced iOS development skills, ideally demonstrated through public-facing applications written in Swift, along with deep knowledge of modern frameworks and tools.
• Extensive experience with automated testing, including unit, integration and end-to-end testing and a strong focus on building quality into delivery.
• Extensive mobile release experience, including CI/CD, automation pipelines, production monitoring and post-release stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, with experience providing guidance and mentoring across engineering teams.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to build productive relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with experience coordinating multi-person delivery, managing dependencies and communicating progress and challenges.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join ABC Digital Product as a Senior iOS Engineer and help shape the mobile applications Australians use to access ABC content.

Working under the broad direction of the Mobile Lead, you'll combine highly advanced iOS development skills with technical leadership across major product features. You'll help define the technical roadmap, guide design and delivery and create scalable, secure, accessible and high-performing mobile experiences.

You'll also tackle complex production challenges, contribute to engineering standards and support other engineers through technical guidance and mentoring.
