Job summary

Avant is seeking an experienced investment analyst to join the Investments team in Sydney. You will analyse strategies across SAA, DAA and manager/fund selection, build and maintain models, and provide research support for strategy reviews and monitoring.

You will mentor junior analysts, support senior colleagues, and prepare concise, board-ready papers and performance commentary for committees. A hands-on, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in finance or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years investment/finance experience.
• Hands-on financial analysis and quantitative modelling for investment decisions.
• Excellent Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
• Solid understanding of markets, asset classes, portfolio construction and risk concepts.
• Attention to detail and proactive, curious mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain internal models to support SAA reviews, tilts and manager selection.
• Conduct research and analysis to support investment strategy reviews.
• Review and enhance investment research processes.
• Develop investment recommendations covering SAA, DAA and manager selection.
• Monitor managers, prepare commentary for performance reports.
• Mentor analysts and provide back-up coverage as required.
• Prepare board/committee papers and contribute to governance process.
