Job summary

Bega Group is seeking a Senior Internal Audit Manager in Melbourne to deliver independent assurance and advisory services that strengthen governance, risk management and control effectiveness. The role leads the risk-based Internal Audit Plan and coordinates co-sourced partners across Australia and internationally.

You'll brief senior executives, present insights to the Audit Committee and Board, and shape the methodology and data-enabled assurance under the new Head of Internal Audit &

Qualifications

• Proven success delivering complex internal audit and risk engagements in large organisations.
• Undergraduate degree (or equivalent); CA or CPA preferred.
• Confident communicator with ability to deliver board-level reports to executives.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and data analytics for assurance insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and deliver the annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan.
• Plan, lead and execute end-to-end internal audits and reviews across the business.
• Produce clear, insightful reports and recommendations; track remediation.
• Coordinate and quality-ensure co-sourced internal audit partners and providers.
• Present audit results to the Executive Leadership Team and the Audit Committee and Board; enhance methodology and technology-enabled assurance.

Job description

The Role

We're seeking a Senior Internal Audit Manager to deliver high-quality, independent assurance and advisory services that sharpen governance, risk management, and control effectiveness. You'll design and execute the risk-based Internal Audit Plan, lead end-to-end audits across operational, financial, compliance and strategic areas, and coordinate co-sourced partners to consistent standards. You will regularly brief senior executives and present insights to the Audit Committee and Board. The function is evolving under a new Head of Internal Audit & Risk, offering scope to shape methodology, data-enabled assurance, and ways of working. This is a hybrid opportunity, with three days per week in the office and occasional travel to Bega sites across Australia and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and deliver the annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan
• Plan, lead and execute end-to-end internal audits and reviews across the business
• Produce clear, insightful reports and recommendations; track and validate remediation
• Coordinate and quality-ensure co-sourced internal audit partners and specialist providers
• Present audit results and thematic insights to the Executive Leadership Team and the Risk & Audit Committee and Board; continuously enhance methodology and technology-enabled assurance

About you

• Proven success delivering complex internal audit and risk engagements in large organisations
• Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience); CA or CPA preferred
• Confident communicator who can write board-level reports and present to executive stakeholders and committees
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement - able to build trust and influence with courage and respect
• Curious and analytical with an interest in data analytics and technology-enabled assurance
