Fortis Talent is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead and shape commercial workplace design projects from brief to delivery. This role combines hands-on design with front-end client interaction, budget awareness, and collaboration with estimating and delivery teams.
You will stay hands-on across workplace design, space planning, Revit documentation and design development, while expanding exposure to clients, project strategy and cost planning.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join a growing commercial workplace fit-out specialist and take on a broader, more influential role across design and the front end of projects, valued up to $10M.
The business is experiencing significant growth, with turnover now exceeding $40M and a strong pipeline of increasingly larger and more complex workplace projects. They've recently moved into a brand-new North Sydney office and are continuing to invest in experienced people as they enter their next phase of growth.
You'll join a collaborative, energetic and down-to-earth team where design works closely with the directors, estimating, pre-construction and delivery teams.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your entire week behind a screen.
You'll remain hands-on across workplace design, space planning, Revit documentation and design development, while gaining greater exposure to clients, project strategy, cost planning and delivery.
For a Senior Interior Designer who enjoys the creative side of the profession but wants more ownership, more client interaction and a better understanding of how projects come together commercially, it's a great next step.
We're looking for an established Senior Interior Designer who understands commercial workplace projects and enjoys being involved beyond purely producing design documentation.
You'll bring:
Experience within a commercial D&C/head contractor environment would be highly regarded, although strong workplace designers coming from an interior design or architectural practice will also be considered.
This is a chance to join a growing workplace contractor where design has a genuine seat at the table.
Rather than being siloed within a traditional design function, you'll work closely with senior decision-makers and see how your designs progress from the initial client conversation through costing, construction and final delivery.
You'll have the opportunity to take greater ownership of projects, build stronger client relationships and broaden your commercial experience without having to move away from design.
With a strong pipeline, new North Sydney office and continued investment in the team, there is also genuine scope to grow your role as the business continues to expand.
If you're a Senior Interior Designer with strong commercial workplace experience and Revit capability who wants more ownership, client exposure and influence over the full project journey, we'd love to hear from you.
