Job summary

Westpac Group is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead (Mainframe) to join the Mainframe Infrastructure Services team within Group Technology. This role is open to candidates Australia-wide and may not require on-site work, with periodic attendance at the Sydney office.

The successful candidate will oversee the mainframe environment, guiding the technical team, and ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes while managing customer engagements and resourcing.

Qualifications

• Experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment including planning, implementation, operational management, configuration and maintenance.
• Good knowledge of mainframe infrastructure, technologies, and products.
• Ability to navigate around the mainframe platform.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mainframe knowledge is an advantage, though not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for customer engagements for the SW infrastructure team.
• Communicate with requestors to provide estimates; estimates are compiled with input from SMEs.
• Ensure customer requirements are clear, concise and complete before engaging the technical team.
• Manage and report on resourcing and engagements, e.g., status reports, forecasting, estimating tools.

What's the role?

We have an exciting opportunity for aSenior Infrastructure Technical Lead (Mainframe)to join Westpac's Mainframe Infrastructure Services team within Group Technology. We are open to candidates applying Australia wide as this person will not be expected to be on site but may be required to attend the Sydney office periodically.

This person will be responsible for supporting Westpac's complex mainframe environment and the technical team. This role plays an important part in managing the development and change of the Mainframe and ensures that the agreed solution is delivered within the agreed timeframes.

You will be involved in the following responsibilities:

• Responsible for customer engagements for the SW infrastructure team.
• Communicate with requestors to provide the estimates. Estimates are complied with input from SME's.
• Clarify that customer requirements are clear, concise, and complete before engaging technical team.
• Manage and report on resourcing and engagements. For example, status reports, forecasting, estimating tools etc.
