Westpac Group in Australia is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to join our Surfers Paradise hub on a permanent hybrid basis. You’ll work across critical mainframe systems and modern platforms, applying AI-enabled tools to accelerate delivery and solve complex problems.

You’ll mentor engineers, contribute to a connected engineering workforce, and help shape the future of technology at Australia’s oldest bank, delivering meaningful improvements for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in COBOL/PLI with JCL and CICS, IMS and batch processing.
• Experience supporting and enhancing applications on z/OS.
• Comfort using AI tools and coding assistants in daily software engineering, including debugging and performance analysis.

• Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to a growing Gold Coast engineering hub.
