Mater Central Queensland - Rockhampton is seeking a Senior Digital Infrastructure Specialist Lead to oversee design, deployment and management of core infrastructure platforms across VMware, Windows Server and Azure environments. You’ll mentor staff and drive modern practices including IaC, automation and cloud governance.

The role is full-time, 12-month maximum-term, based in Newstead and South Brisbane, offering a competitive hourly salary with benefits and salary packaging options.

Qualifications

• Six or more years’ experience in critical IT support and delivery environments.
• Extensive VMware technologies experience: vSphere, vCenter, vSAN and NSX.
• Proven Windows Server and virtualization management in large organisations.
• Experience delivering IT infrastructure projects or project coordination.
• Experience/strong capability in Azure, IaC, automation, and cloud governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of infrastructure support services and issue resolution.
• Design, deploy, manage and support virtual servers and Windows server environments.
• Provide expertise across VMware, on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to hybrid infrastructure solutions with Azure services.
• Lead small to medium infrastructure projects and upgrades.
• Develop infrastructure solutions for healthcare systems and apps.
• Advance Mater’s cloud maturity with IaC, automation and governance.
• Research emerging technologies and advise on options and planning.
• Provide technical guidance to IT teams and leadership.
• Create and review infrastructure documentation and standards.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with strong analytical skills.
• Collaborate across IT teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Mentor less senior team members and share knowledge.
• Explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Operate within ITIL framework and meet service levels.
