Job summary

BYD’s Mulgrave office seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead IDC and cloud platform infrastructure across the region, ensuring stable, secure operations for business systems. You’ll drive automation, container platforms, and high-availability architectures in a dynamic, global setting.

You will manage Linux servers, Docker/Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD workflows, and cloud services across Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, AWS, GCP, and private Huawei/Apsara stacks.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Equivalent relevant industry experience will be considered.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in systems or infrastructure operations, incl. Linux server environments with 50+ nodes.
• Strong proficiency in Linux administration and Shell/Python scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with load balancing technologies incl. HAProxy, LVS and Nginx.
• Experience operating cloud platforms such as Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, AWS or equivalent.
• Ability to independently perform cloud optimization and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and full lifecycle operation of IDC and cloud platform infrastructure across the region.
• Provide end-to-end operational support for applications, deployment, performance tuning and incident response.
• Conduct monitoring, capacity planning, cost optimisation, security audits and cloud optimization.
• Manage deployment, monitoring, performance tuning and troubleshooting of Docker and Kubernetes platforms; implement CI/CD.
• Lead infrastructure provisioning and automation across network, server, cloud and containers; build automation tools with Shell and Python.
• Support private clouds such as Huawei HCS and Alibaba Apsara Stack; maintain virtualization technologies.
• Collaborate with Headquarters Platform Team to implement unified infrastructure practices and security requirements.
• Travel internationally as required to support regional operations.
