Job summary

Vertical Scope Group invites an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and sustain complex ICT infrastructure across Linux, networking, cloud and cross-domain environments. This role supports secure, resilient and mission-critical digital services in a national security context.

You will work on design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of secure infrastructure, including automation, patching, CDS support and continuous improvement across diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience configuring and sustaining Linux-based ICT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, monitoring and authentication services.
• Strong experience with Ansible or similar automation tools for system builds, configuration and replication.
• Hands-on experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and supporting the development of new CDS capabilities.
• Proven ability to maintain infrastructure reliability through automation, patching, upgrades, monitoring and version control.
• Experience developing scripts or small programs using Python, Bash or similar languages to automate processes and integrate security tools.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in secure and operationally sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable and compliant infrastructure solutions across complex environments.
• Configure, install, maintain and retire physical and virtual hardware and software.
• Monitor system performance, security and reliability, identifying and resolving infrastructure issues.
• Apply patches, upgrades, updates and vendor mitigations across operating systems, applications, drivers and firmware.
• Support the design, development and sustainment of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
• Contribute to automation, continuous improvement and the development of robust infrastructure processes and practices.
