Job summary

West Recruitment in Sydney seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and support enterprise hosting infrastructure across on‑premises and hybrid cloud, with a focus on performance, reliability and security.

You will lead VMware vSphere/NSX/VCF management, Microsoft Azure and private cloud services, plus storage, backup with Veeam and disaster recovery, driving upgrades and migrations in a collaborative, security‑minded environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support enterprise server, storage and hosting infrastructure.
• Manage VMware virtualization platforms, including vSphere, NSX and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Support Microsoft Azure and private cloud infrastructure environments.
• Manage enterprise storage, backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Veeam.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes and migration to hybrid cloud platforms.
• Develop infrastructure lifecycle plans and contribute to technology roadmaps.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability and security.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide senior technical escalation.
• Work with Security, Networking and Architecture teams on infrastructure projects and improvements.
• Manage external service providers and ensure infrastructure services meet operational requirements.

About Your New Role

About You

An experienced Infrastructure Engineer with broad technical exposure across enterprise hosting, virtualisation and cloud environments. You have a strong track record of delivering infrastructure improvements and supporting complex, business-critical technology platforms.

You will be familiar with the following:

• Strong VMware experience, including vSphere, NSX and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Enterprise Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Enterprise storage technologies and infrastructure management.
• Veeam Backup & Replication and disaster recovery solutions.
• Citrix administration and application hosting environments.
• Active Directory and core Microsoft infrastructure services.
• Infrastructure security, hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience delivering infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology refreshes.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with external technology providers.
