Job summary

ManpowerGroup is actively seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Melbourne to design, implement and manage enterprise infrastructure platforms that support business-critical services and HPC workloads.

You will contribute to storage, virtualization, and data centre initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable infrastructure aligned with modern engineering practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and supporting enterprise storage environments.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
• Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing production-grade VMware virtualisation environments.
• Solid understanding of data centre infrastructure principles relevant to HPC and storage environments.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure environments and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic planning, design, implementation and maintenance of enterprise high-performance storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage), backup platforms, and virtualisation platforms.
• Manage and plan the complex architectural design, deployment, and ongoing management of storage capacity, performance, and data protection.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure infrastructure solutions are delivered in accordance with approved technical architectures and operational models.
• Manage and undertake the design and upkeep of data centre facility and network infrastructure components critical for the operation of compute, storage, and virtualisation environments.
• Apply engineering principles, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to ensure robust and repeatable deployments across both Kubernetes and underlying infrastructure.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in the design, implementation, and management of enterprise infrastructure platforms that support both business-critical services and advanced High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise IT and research computing, ensuring the organisation's infrastructure can meet the demands of data-intensive workloads, large-scale compute environments, and future growth.
