Job summary

Department of Education WA is seeking Senior Information Access Officers to support FOI processes, handle direct releases and formal applications, and interpret relevant legislation for information access decisions.

Roles involve coordinating responses to court orders, engaging with applicants and agencies, and contributing to information governance and records management across the CIS branch.

Qualifications

• Experience with the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and information disclosure processes.
• Ability to interpret legislation and apply case histories and precedents.
• Strong communication with applicants, third parties and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate responses to FOI requests, summonses and orders for production of records.
• Provide advice on information release and case handling under FOI Act.
• Consult with applicants, third parties and staff on disclosure matters.
