Job summary

PLAYFAIR is seeking a migration lawyer/agent to join our team in Australia. You will handle employer sponsored, family and skilled visa matters, manage a caseload from start to finish and liaise with clients and government authorities.

With 3–5 years of immigration law experience and a current practicing certificate or registration as a Migration Agent, you will work independently and as part of a team in a busy, client‑focused practice.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in immigration law.
• Experience with employer sponsored, family and/or skilled visas is required.
• Familiarity with Migration Manager an advantage.
• Solid understanding of Australian immigration laws and visa processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice and assistance to corporate clients and individuals across visa subclasses.
• Assume carriage of a caseload consisting primarily of employer sponsored, family and skilled visa matters.
• Prepare, review and lodge visa applications and other migration-related applications (such as skills assessments, requests for merits review, etc.).
• Manage the progress of client files from beginning to end.
• Liaise with clients, the Department of Home Affairs and external organisations where appropriate.
• Work within established routines, methods and procedures, exercise discretion and maintain confidential information.
• Maintain accurate files in accordance with protocols for LEAP Migration Manager.
