Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior ICT & Security Consultant to develop detailed design solutions and deliver ICT, Security, and AV projects across local and national teams.

You will coordinate with providers (Telstra, NBN) and lead design documentation for ICT and Security systems, including cabling, data centres, networks, CCTV, access control, and cyber security.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in ICT, Security, Communications, or AV.
• Eligible for Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Experience in ICT and Security engineering design.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICT and Security engineering design including drawings and reports.
• Perform calculations to design ICT and Security components using standard software.
• Lead evaluation and selection of ICT and Security systems and materials; develop specifications.

As a Senior ICT & Security Consultant with Stantec, you will have an interest in developing detailed design solutions and for the delivery of a range of exciting Information Communications Technology, Security, and Audio-Visual projects.

In this role you can expect to;

Work as part of a local and national ICT & security consulting team on a diverse range of projects.

Coordinate communications provider (Telstra, NBN, etc.) requirements for the project team.

Lead the Design and documentation of ICT and Security systems ranging from structured cabling systems, High Density Data Centre Optical fibre interconnects, core network infrastructure, Wireless Networks, IPTV, audio-visual systems, Microsoft Teams Rooms, CCTV, electronic access control, intruder alarm, intercom and Cyber Security systems.

Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and partner with internal and external clients;

Participate in site investigations and utilise strong report writing and verbal communication skills;

Work under the general direction of a senior engineer

Assist with preparing proposals and cost estimates.

Work is completed under general supervision.

Hold and maintain relevant professional qualifications.

Essential Functions

Lead ICT and Security engineering design which may include engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria, to support engineering projects.

Perform calculations to analyze and design ICT and Security system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

Lead in the evaluation and selection of ICT and Security systems and materials and the development of specifications.

Lead the development of ICT and Security systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.

Lead in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.

Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.

Prepare engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.

Lead in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.

Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.

Lead in value engineering and cost estimating to support engineering projects.

Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Education

Relevant Tertiary Qualification in ICT, Security, Communications or AV related field of study

Eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance
