Job summary

AECOM's WA team seeks a senior hydrogeologist to lead groundwater investigations and environmental projects across Western Australia. You will oversee drilling campaigns, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring, and regulatory filings, while guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring safety and quality.

Strong report writing and client liaison skills are essential. Based WA-wide with hybrid work options and regular fieldwork, travel to project sites is expected to support major mining,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering hydrogeological investigations and groundwater assessments.
• Strong technical capability across drilling supervision, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring and regulatory approvals.
• Experience managing projects or technical workstreams with budgets and schedules.
• Ability to prepare high‑quality technical reports and proposals and interpret complex datasets.
• Willingness to undertake regular fieldwork and travel within Western Australia.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver hydrogeological investigations and groundwater studies across WA mining, infrastructure and environmental projects.
• Lead field programs including drilling oversight, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring and sampling with safety and quality focus.
• Develop conceptual models and prepare groundwater assessments, regulatory documents and proposals.
• Manage projects or workstreams, coordinating resources, budgets, schedules and deliverables.
• Build relationships with clients and regulators, mentoring junior hydrogeologists.
