Job summary

WSP Canberra is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to lead hydraulic design across local and national projects within our Building Services team. You will mentor junior engineers and engage closely with clients, authorities and internal teams to ensure compliant, cost-effective solutions.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of Australian experience in hydraulic design, strong regulatory knowledge (AS/NZS, NCC), and BIM proficiency (Revit/NavisWorks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• 6+ years' experience on Australian building services projects in hydraulic design.
• Strong knowledge of AS/NZS, NCC and related standards.
• Experience in consulting engineering; D&C contracting valued.
• Familiar with BIM platforms (Revit, NavisWorks); Revit capability preferred.
• Citizenship preferred due to security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic services design on multidisciplinary projects.
• Produce high-quality engineering documentation for clients.
• Own small to medium projects and contribute to larger teams.
• Collaborate with clients, authorities, and internal teams.
• Build client relationships and identify new Canberra/regional opportunities.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
