Job summary

Aurec is seeking a Senior Exchange Specialist Infrastructure Engineer to join a Federal Government ICT team in Canberra. You will maintain and modernise enterprise messaging across on-prem Exchange and M365/Exchange Online in a hybrid environment.

You will lead migrations, implement security controls, and design automated PowerShell workflows, collaborating with project managers and external providers in a high-security setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in Microsoft hybrid messaging environments (Exchange on-premises and M365/Exchange Online).
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities.
• Capacity management and performance monitoring for messaging systems.
• Ability to articulate technical recommendations to stakeholders and managers.
• Knowledge of email security, governance, and compliance controls.

Responsibilities

• Support, configure, and enhance on-premise Exchange and Microsoft 365 messaging systems.
• Monitor mail flow, service performance, and system availability; resolve complex issues.
• Implement email security, governance, and compliance controls across messaging infrastructure.
• Lead email migrations and platform modernisation in a hybrid environment.
• Design and implement automation scripts to streamline operations.
• Produce technical documentation and handover guides for records repository.
• Collaborate with project managers, ICT teams, and external providers to ensure service delivery.
